This is so exciting! : ) Can't wait to see what develops.
so far, so great girl! i am very curious to see what snape would have been like without the influence of 29 years of spying.

Oh this is good.....my brain is spinning with all the possiblities of where this can go.....
This looks to be quite the emotional adventure. I can’t imagine how confused and betrayed Severus must feel right now having his own house filled with unknown people and to have them turn against him. I think what makes it worse is the lack of memory of the experiment. Fall he knows it was a normal day before waking up in the shambles of the potions lab. Even the headmaster being gone and seeing McGonagall twenty years older. I think part of him is realizing what has happened while at the same time being in denial, confused, scared and wanting to lash out to shield himself from the reality of what has happened. Though it was pretty funny to see her faint like that. (so much for Gryphendoor eh?) It definitely lightened up the seriousness of the situation at the end of the chapter. While I know there is no cure to what’s happened, I wonder if they’ll find research notes on the project to at least explain what happened to the characters. I wanted to hit Harry over the head though for sneaking into the infirmary like that and blurting out that information to Severus like that. To be in a place so familiar and yet so alien due to the changes that have occurred over time and to hear that the one person who was a light in his life was dead. I think Harry’s been hanging out with Ron too much if he’s going to barge in like that when it would have been a hell of a lot better to just try and observe for a while before delivering another shock. I wanted to cry as he ran through the school looking for Lily. At least Hermione offered him a bit of compassion as well as lifeline. Even the professors haven’t been that considerate, instead examining him without explaining what is going on. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next when he sees Petunia and the rest of the Dursleys. Part of me is hoping that seeing how Harry grew up, Severus might actually show some compassion toward him, or at least realize that he is not his father’s son as much as he’s Lily’s son in temperament. After all, for all the attention Harry’s father garnered, Harry never wanted to be like that, and hated the fame he had through the entire series. Hell it might even bring Severus some peace and closure though He’ll have to learn some tact. I look forward to the next installation.

sorry for multiple posts, didn't see the review when I first submitted it
Oh my. It might be a bit premature to say, but this might be my favourite so far. (And I've read a lot of your stories.) It's starting out so well, so painful, so promising. Really hope to see an update soon. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Poor poor Severus. You help him, Hermione. I <3 Snape
This promises to be another of your wild rides! I eagerly await updates. And, Snape just broke my heart during his search for Lily.
I am LOVING this! It's so sad, poor Severus. I hope Hermione will help him get over his grief soon!
This is such a fresh new idea. And it's turning into a great story. I'm really enjoying reading it. Can't wait for more. =D
hahaha. Pity shag. Ron=moron, as always. I love how the younger Snape is as snarky as the older one hehe. I'm loving the story. Can't wait to see where your twisted mind takes us. ;D
...and we're off and running! Already I can feel that this has the potential to be a wonderful story. Snape and Hermione on equal footing, so to speak, could go many places. Maybe Hermione can help Severus to fill in the blanks of his past, and get him acclimated to the present. Ron should stay out of the way, if he knows whats good for him (he usually doesn't). Hoo boy.
Interesting start, should be great as always. Poor Severus. Looking forward to more. Truly
Oh this is really good! I can't wait to see what happens!

Plot bunny or not, I want more more more! lol. Very intrigued!
I love the story I absolutely love it. It is funny and very interesting. I can not wait to read more. Please continue ASAP. I finally have my Severus and Hermione hit. Thank you Ms Figg. I will always love and appreciate your stories.
Poor Snape, he seems to just be getting one bad blow after another, the treatment by the Dursley’s, the hard reality of Lily’s death, his role in the death of Dumbledoor. That kind of news rather makes his order of Merlin pretty hollow. Though now that most of the major negative first shocks are out of the way, I’m sure he can slowly start to move forward. I doubt they are truly over and I hope that he doesn’t end up blaming himself for Lily’s death again. After all Voldermort could just as easily targeted the Longbottoms instead of the Potters as they were born within a week of each other. Voldermort was the one to chose who the prophesy would be fulfilled by. Also they wouldn’t have been found if not for Pettigrew’s betrayal to Voldermort. (never let a rat be a secret keeper) Despite Hogwarts being an alien place to him now, he does have the support of several staff members as well as at least Harry and Hermione. I’m not certain if anyone in Slytherin house would be overly supportive but who can tell for certain? I do hope he can get some clues or sense of self when he visits his lab –wreck that it is right now with that explosion—and his rooms there. I doubt there would be any personal journals though. He doesn’t strike me as the kind of person to leave his thoughts on paper unless working on a spell or potion project. His years as a spy would prevent him from leaving any kind of trail, that I’m certain of. And Ron is acting his usual hotheaded self. After hearing Hermione’s remark, it almost makes me wish Snape heard her tell Ron she shagged him. I’m hoping Snape can be convinced to stay for a little while at the school. Despite his current state, he’s got more allies there to support him than anywhere as long as he’s not so proud that he won’t accept them. He’s gonna need some time for everything to soak in though I imagine. I guess the question is will he stay at Hogwarts or retreat to spinners end to find out what’s happened in solitude. Staying at Hogwarts would be a hell of a lot more challenging and adventurous in the long run. I look forward to the next installment from this one most eagerly.
Yay! A new story! I'm glad you're writing a Severus/Hermione story again. I've missed them.
Yay. Can't wait to see what happens next! It'll be interesting to see how he and Hermione will get together as he's still devastated over Lily. And to see how he'll change now that he's in this situation.
Love this!
This is great. can't wait to read more.
Love it !more soon ?
I see Slughorn hasn't changed, allways looking for the upper hand. I do hope Severus calms down a bit after a good night's sleep. I dare say he feels more at home in his teachers quaters than at Spinners end a bit. After all it reflects him as well as not having any bad memories attached like Spinners End. I eagerly awate to see what is going to happen the following morning as well as what Hermione may have discuessed with Minerva after letting her know that they're back. I'm sure I'm as eager as everyone else for the next installment
Let's see how Hermione feels about "burgeoning sexual exhibitionism" after Severus has his way with her. *Evil Laugh* Hehehe. Booksy-wormsy OCD Hermione really gets under my skin. At least she has compassion enough to want to help him. I'm loving this story. I'm impressed how fast you're popping those chappies out. This is the first in-progress work of yours I've ever read. :)
I love this already. Its a good idea to have Sev have a chance to start over, although it looks like he's having a rough start so far. He did find out that his best friend, as well as the love of his life is dead. If it were me, I would have passed out from the magnitude of it, but Severus is stronger, even when he's at that young of an age. He'll toughen up. Lets just hope he doesn't toughen up too much. You go, Sev! ^^
Very interesting take on young Snape story. I really look forward to see what you pull from your sleeve. Snape's reactions to Lily's death were so sad.
WOOhoo! New story-yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
OMG!! that was so funny....you just look like you should have bucked teeth and...some reason, you annoy me ..that is hilarious!!! How do you think of this? I can imagine him really saying that.

Looks like Severus is hitting the anger stage of his grieving both in the loss of his world and Lily. He’s already hit “shock and denial”, and “pain and grief” and he’s working on “anger and bargaining stage.” Next is the ‘depression/reflection loneliness phase’ the “upward turn”, then “reconstruction and working through’’ and finally “acceptance and hope.” (yes I looked it up) If you ask me Dumbledoor deserved more than a reducto curse thrown at him though since he was dead, that’s about all that he could do. He used so many people, and hid so much that things were in severe danger of falling to pieces. Granted a lot of military ops function on “need to know” basis so in a way he was a very good general but he used Harry and his friends, Snape and even Draco as pawns and sacrificial lambs. The only slightly redeeming feature is that Dumbledoor even sacrificed himself for the cause he believed in. Snape was the one who was the most ill used though. I love Hermione telling Severus off a bit and to “buck up” snapping him out of his rage and self pity a bit even momentarily acknowledging—even silently—that he’s not as alone as he thinks. Everyone has suffered losses. Ron’s lost a brother, Harry grew up an orphan and lost all the people who were connected to his parents, Hermione lost friends and class mates as well as undergoing torture by Belitrix and had to send her family away, with no guarantee that she’d ever see them again. I think when Severus learns about himself, he’ll also learn about the history of what happened to others during the war. He should find a new place to belong and others to connect with given time. I look forward to seeing Severus’s reactions as he learns his history and the rest of the past 20 years. He’s still got some hard truths to face and I hope he doesn’t blame himself wholly for Voldermort targeting the Potters. After all the Prophesy also fit the Longbottom family. It was Voldermort’s choice to go after a “half blood” It seems he had more faith in half bloods than “purebloods” despite his shame and hating his “filthy muggle father” and refusing to keep his name. Taking Severus under his wing, keeping him as his most trusted servant and targeting a family that is not ‘pureblooded’ to be his nemesis. He was always such a fraud and I think he was using the purebloods natural prejudice to control them and take over. Though he did have a true hatred of Muggles, and that in part transferred to muggleborns, he does believe that all magical blood is privileged blood to a point. Goodness, I’m rambling. I’ll end this here and look forward to the next installment.
Hello Ms. Figg - I haven't found that lemonade yet, but this story looks promising :D
Hahahaaaa perfect ending to chapter 7. Can't wait to see what happens next. It's getting more interesting with each chapter.
OMG! I loved their little hissy fit over who was smarter and those were some hilarious evaluations of Hermione. I can see they're getting closer now. Hehe. Can't wait for moreeee. I'm addicted now.
Oh this chapter definitely had a throwing of the gauntlet as you so eloquently put it. I can just see those two going head to head with each other in various debates. I can already imagine them fighting and getting up in each other’s faces while a wicked little voice in my mind says “there’s a thin line between love and hate” I’m sure it’ll be a while in coming but I can just see them fighting one moment then making out the next. It’ll also be interesting if Hermione had a crush on Severus in the previous years. After all she did defend him and his teaching to Harry when he became the DADA teacher in her sixth year. She certainly seemed to respect him then. And if she did have any feelings toward him, would he be able to see that in any memories that she provides either through a pensive or legilimancy. Since they are now academic rivals, I doubt they’ll study together. Most of their interactions will be involving Snape rediscovering himself. Though I can just see him watching her try to shove some knowledge in both Harry and Ron’s heads. Bossy as she is, it’s how she shows she cares and that nobody has ever really managed to reign her in or prove her wrong. Having Severus around will be as good for Hermione as she will be good for Severus. I wonder how the NEWTS will go for both of them. If they’ll tie overall or If one will come out on top. I look forward to see where this will lead.
